We are evaluating Maxst as an alternative from another AR tech we are using. We currently have 7 apps that we'd like to switch over for a client and another 6 apps in various phases of development for this client as well.

However, an important feature is the Cardboard support. This app will be for kids to use within a custom headset where they can place their Android or iOS phone. They are able to do handheld and hands free mode so we need the split view for the hands free mode. Is there any chance this support can be integrated or has anybody found a solution to do this using Maxst? Since this is already implemented in live apps, we can't drop the feature and need a replacement option.

Thank you for your time.

Does it mean that both apps used on the phone and apps used on the cardboard must be supported? First of all, I think that the app used in the phone can be replaced without difficulty using the MAXST AR SDK. We also support Smart Glass, so please write a bit more specific about what features you need. Let's listen to your requirements and see if we need to implement additional features.

Hello Leo,

Thank you for the reply.

I think my question might be a bit confusing. The current 7 apps that are out all have a feature to select hands free vs handheld mode. These apps are on iOS and Android. The apps compliment a kit that the client has that includes a plastic headset that holds the phone (basically equivalent to Google cardboard). If the child selects hands free mode, they can place the phone into the headset and be able to look at the pages in the book to see popups, videos, and other things play. They can also do this with handheld.

We have already tested standard AR using Maxst where the user just holds their phone, so we're perfectly fine there and actually already purchased a license key for another app and it is working great.

The issue we're running into is we can't see a way to setup stereo view for the headset so they can wear their phone and look at AR image targets in the book (thus my Google cardboard reference). Since we are looking to switch the currently live apps over to Maxst when we do this next update this month, we're trying to replicate existing features without having to change the apps experience.

Thank you.
